Welcome to ORI!

ORI is the "Open Research Institute". Our internal comms are the open internet, and your degree is a successful unpopular prediction of reality.

This book is the minimum amount of knowledge you need to understand & contribute to ORI. In ORI's language, this defines the "B floor".

The intended way to read this book is to just look at the titles of the chapters. If you already know the answers to the questions, you can skim the first paragraph of each chapter just to validate that ORI agrees with you. Each chapter is one concept, and the contents of it are describing that same concept at varying levels of detail.

The gray chapters are ones that are proposed as "common knowledge of the ORI egregore" but not yet ratified. They go through an RFC (request for comment) process that is managed on GitHub but takes input from anywhere on the internet that ORI can hear (twitter, substack, bluesky, various discords). There should be a corresponding PR for any gray chapter that collects & aggregates this feedback.
